On May 9, 2026, officers with the Bloomington Police Department were dispatched to a past action report of theft at Target at 2555 79th Street West, Bloomington, Hennepin County, Minnesota. Officers met with Loss Prevention staff, E. H. E. H. Reported that the same individual was seen on multiple occasions engaging in thefts, captured on surveillance. The man was later identified as JESSE JAMES LOGES, [DOB REDACTED], “Defendant” herein. E. H. Reported that Defendant had committed five thefts: - On April 24, 2026, Defendant entered the store and selected two projectors valued at $499. He then went to the bathroom and cut the security sensors off and flushed them down the toilet.
Defendant took the merchandise without paying. - On April 28, 2026, Defendant entered the store and selected three projectors valued at $899.97. He again took the merchandise to the bathroom, defeated the security sensors, and took the merchandise without paying. - On April 30, 2026, Defendant entered the store and selected one projector and one headset with a total value of $499. He again took the merchandise to the bathroom, defeated the security sensors, and took the merchandise without paying. - On May 3, 2026, Defendant entered the store and selected one projector for a total value of $499. He took the merchandise without paying. - On May 6, 2026, Defendant entered the store and selected one projector for a total value of $599. He took the merchandise without paying.
On May 12, 2026, officers were dispatched to the 79th Street West Bloomington Target on a report that Defendant was in the store and engaged in the same conduct as on previous occasions. Defendant was captured on surveillance concealing three projectors valued at $897 in an orange backpack. Defendant then went into the bathroom and a short time later left the bathroom and passed all points of sale without attempting to pay for the merchandise. When the Defendant was outside the store officers were there and informed him he was under arrest.
Defendant turned to run but ran into another arriving squad car. A search incident to arrest yielded the three projectors in Defendant’s backpack, and a pair of scissors. The bathroom was searched and the three security sensors that had been on the projectors were recovered. The total value of the stolen merchandise is approximately $3,892.97 Defendant is currently in custody.
