Was trapped inside her vehicle due to significant damage to the driver's side and she was assisted out by Officers. B. B. Was provided medical treatment for the crash where medical professionals determined that she suffered from whiplash, soft tissue injury, and required chiropractic adjustments to correct rib bones being out of place.
The Subaru was driven by AVA TAYLOR ANTONE, Defendant herein. Witnesses reported that the Defendant got out of her vehicle after the crash and started walking away south down Highway 88. Officers located the Defendant walking quickly on the side of the highway two to three blocks away from the scene. The Defendant was not wearing shoes while she was walking on the highway. Officers asked the Defendant to stop as they got out of their squad cars. The Defendant attempted to walk around Officers stating they could not stop her and that we were violating her human rights.
Officers advised her that she was being detained for leaving the scene of an accident. The Defendant was verbally uncooperative and then passively resistant when she was eventually placed under arrest. The Defendant was extremely fidgety, moving around and appeared to not be able to understand the need to stand still. She was talking very fast and was not making sense or seem to understand what Officers were asking of her to do. In a post-Miranda statement, the Defendant stated she had been distracted by "emotional problems" while driving for several minutes prior to the vehicle crash.
The Defendant stated she was distracted by family problems with a particular focus on her father. She told Officers that her father brainwashed her as a child and was out to ruin her life and the lives off her family and friends. She then stated that she thinks her father is working with the CIA to observe her. In a search incident to arrest, Officers located 0.438 grams of FTP Methamphetamine in her purse as well as drug paraphernalia. Officers also located a razor blade in her sock. She said she uses it to take stickers off things.
Through Officers experience and training, they know that narcotic users also use razor blades to separate the narcotics into lines to either snort or to chop crystals up to ingest in other ways. Officers obtained a search warrant for a fluid sample which revealed that the Defendant had Amphetamine and Methamphetamine in her system while operating a motor vehicle. The Defendant is currently out of custody.
