At around 2:50 PM on December 28, 2025, officers were sent to White Bear Floral at [ADDRESS REDACTED], Gem Lake, Ramsey County on a motor vehicle theft. Officers spoke to WM who had started a 2004 GMC Sierra bearing Minnesota license plate [PLATE REDACTED] to warm it up for plowing the lot. WM left the Sierra running with its keys in it. When WM returned a short time later, he discovered that the Sierra was missing. The Sierra was equipped with a $7500 plow and a $4000 fifth wheel hitch mount in its bed.
The Sierra was valued at more than $5000. Surveillance video showed a white sedan pulled up near the Sierra. A man wearing all black got out of the white sedan and walked to the Sierra’s driver’s door. The sedan drove away, and the Sierra also drove off. An employee at Country Lounge at [ADDRESS REDACTED] recognized the man who stole the Sierra had been in the bar earlier that day. Surveillance video from the bar showed that the man who stole the Sierra was CHARLES PRESCOTT VADNAIS [DOB REDACTED]. Vadnais has 19 prior felony convictions.
Vadnais is currently charged with felony theft in Hennepin County District Court file 27-CR-25-19467. Vadnais is currently charged with burglary in the first degree and mail theft in Anoka County District Court file 02-CR-25-6626. Vadnais is currently charged with felony theft on Carver County District Court file 10-CR-25-305. Vadnais is currently charged with burglary in the first degree and possession of burglary/theft tools in Anoka County District Court file 02-CR-25-674. Vadnais is currently charged with motor vehicle theft in Anoka County District Court file 02-CR-25-675.
