On March 21, 2026, at 2345 hours, St. Paul police officers responded to [ADDRESS REDACTED], St. Paul, Ramsey County, on a report of a stabbing. Officers located NMD, [DOB REDACTED], sitting on the staircase leading to the upper units. There was a trail of bleeding leading to him from the lower units. NMD had a stab wound to his abdomen and a laceration, consistent with a defensive wound, to his right forearm. NMD stated that he had been living with his friend, Tyron Montez Minor, [DOB REDACTED], for the past few months.
They were drinking. He said when Minor drinks, he gets assaultive. Minor grabbed a knife and threatened to kill him. Minor suddenly attacked him stabbing him in the abdomen and cutting his forearm when NMD attempted to defend himself. He said the assault occurred in the living room in unit 2. Officers went to unit 2 and Minor [NAME REDACTED]. Minor had a lump on his head and small cuts on his fingers. He had blood on his clothing. In a post-Miranda interview, Minor said that NMD came over. He had already been stabbed.
He said he attempted to help NMD. He said that NMD then left the unit. Officers obtained a search warrant. They searched unit 2. They located the blade of a knife broken off at the handle positioned outside the doorway of unit 2. They found a handle for a knife inside unit 2. There were many cleaning supplies visible in the apartment. There was a large amount of blood in the living room, specifically on the couch. Officers observed cleaning agents puddled in the cracks of the couch and blood had been wiped up on the outer floor area near the couch, while significant blood was still pooled under the couch.
There was an open bottle of vodka tipped over in the middle of the living room.
