Witness 1, an adult female fully identified in the reports, indicated she is the aunt to Victim, a 9‐ year‐old female child. Witness 1 identified the suspect as Michael Everett Wilde, [DOB REDACTED]. Witness 1 advised that on 7/19/25, she had gone to the Sherburne County Fair with Victim and Victim’s brother (Witness 2). Witness 2 told Witness 1 that Wilde had been touching Victim. Victim [NAME REDACTED] told Witness 1 that Wilde had touched her vagina and he had been doing so for a year and a half.
Victim [NAME REDACTED] was afraid to go to the bathroom at night because she did not want to run into Wilde and have him touch her. Witness 1 noted Victim [NAME REDACTED] incidents for over a year. Victim participated in a forensic interview, where she disclosed that Wilde and told her to keep a secret. She identified that Wilde would touch her “butt” under her clothes and move his hand around. Victim [NAME REDACTED] in her bedroom while Wilde was babysitting. Wilde often had her remove her pants and underwear, and he would tell her to lay down on her bed.
Wilde would then touch her. Victim demonstrated with the anatomical dolls, and pulled down the female doll’s pants, placing it face down. Victim had the male doll straddle the female doll’s legs and use its hands to touch the female doll’s buttocks. Victim identified this first started happening when she was in the first grade, approximately seven years old. Detective Cowley interviewed Victim’s mother, who confirmed that Wilde would watch her children multiple times per week. Victim’s mother was unaware of the sexual contact occurring, and when she asked Victim [NAME REDACTED] did not say something, Victim [NAME REDACTED] told her to keep it a secret.
Victim’s mother later advised they had been living in the same apartment in Elk River, Sherburne County, Minnesota, since about March of 2022. Wilde did not reside at their apartment, but she and Wilde were previously involved in a significant romantic relationship. Based on Victim’s report, all incidents occurred at the family's residence in Elk River. PLEASE TAKE NOTICE: Pursuant to Minn.
