On the morning of 10/5/2025, MPD officers responded to [ADDRESS REDACTED], Minneapolis, for report of a burglary of a dwelling. Upon arrival officers met with Victim [NAME REDACTED] at some point during the night, while she was sleeping, someone had been inside of her house and stolen multiple items. Victim BK said that she believes that the suspect came in through the window. Officers observed there was a table with a microwave and food in bowls under the window which had been moved away from the wall.
One of the bowls was moved from that table to the oven a few steps away. There was also plastic over the window that had been ripped from the bottom up. Additionally, there was a half-eaten taco just inside the back door of the home that Victim BK had never seen before, along with a Taco Bell cup left in the grass at the bottom of the doors leading from the back door. Victim BK provided a list of items that had been taken from the home. Just inside the back door there was a jar with about $40 in change that was taken.
Additionally, on the kitchen table was Victim BK's wallet with her real ID and bank cards inside. Her passport was also stolen from the table. All of the keys for her home and vehicle were taken off of a key holder on the wall. In the dining room area Victim [NAME REDACTED] had two IPad's, an IPhone 16, a Mac Book and an empty external HD stolen from a tabletop. On 12/30/2025 MPD Crime Lab was able to identify multiple fingerprints that had been found at the scene that matched Fausto Gualalupe Apodaca Gaxiloa, [DOB REDACTED] (now referred to as “Defendant"). Follow-up was conducted and Victim BK confirmed she does not know Defendant, and he has never been invited into her home.
A warrant is requested in the interest of public safety.
