The following is based on your complainant’s review of the reports of other officers and your complainant’s own investigation: On the morning of December 15, 2025, St. Paul Police received a report of theft from the detached garage of a home on Englewood Ave., St. Paul, Ramsey County. JJN ([DOB REDACTED]) reported that he had accidentally left his garage door open overnight and that at about 5:00am, an unknown man had driven up in a Honda CRX, stolen power tools, and damaged the entertaining center (apparently attempting to remove it) in JJN’s Land Rover Discovery.
Surveillance video was recovered. It shows the man arriving in the CRX, taking items from the garage, and loading them into the CRX. Four minutes after he arrives, he drives away. Officers had encountered the CRX in mid-August, when it was being driven by the defendant, EKOI LEE ([DOB REDACTED]). Warrants for his arrest were outstanding at the time. The man seen in the video was positively identified as the defendant. In a recent booking photo of the defendant, he is wearing eyeglasses very similar to those that he can be seen wearing in the surveillance video.
The defendant awaits sentencing on January 23 for Burglary in the Third Degree, Theft of Motor Vehicle, and Violation of Controlled Substance Laws in the Second Degree. The defendant also faces a pending charge for Possession of Stolen or Counterfeit Check – Four or More Victims / $2500 or More. He failed to appear at a hearing in the case on December 19; a warrant for his arrest is outstanding. A warrant is respectfully requested in this case as well.
