On May 25, 2026, at approximately 10:36 PM, Officer VanDaalen of the Chaska Police Department responded to a domestic situation at a residence located on the 400th block of Yellow Brick Circle in the city of Chaska, Carver County, Minnesota. Law enforcement arrived and located the adult female reporting party, SK (hereinafter, "Victim"). Victim explained that an adult male named Roland Cooper Kain, [DOB REDACTED], Defendant herein, lives with her as he has no where else to go. Victim [NAME REDACTED] into her room and claimed to have been assaulted at the Speedway, Victim told Defendant to report it to law enforcement.
Defendant was on the phone with one of his friends and was talking about obtaining street justice "pulling up on them". Victim then interrupted the conversation and told Defendant to call 911. Defendant became upset with Victim [NAME REDACTED] on top of her while she was laying bed. While on top of Victim Defendant placed his hands around her throat and squeezed to the point that it restricted her ability to breath. Defendant hit her on the head causing pain and a lump. Defendant took Victim's computer and threw it against the wall causing a hole in the wall and the computer to be damaged.
Victim was trying to call law enforcement with her computer and Defendant knew this and that is why he threw the computer. Victim [NAME REDACTED] was able to escape her bedroom and went downstairs to call 911. Defendant then fled the residence. While speaking with Victim, law enforcement observed Victim [NAME REDACTED] on her arms/shoulder area that was from another incident that was reported to law enforcement (••-CR-••-••••). Victim also had a fresh bump on her head and requested a medical evaluation.
Victim also showed law enforcement the inside of the residence where the assault occurred. Inside the bedroom law enforcement observed the computer on the floor appeared to be broken and holes in the wall consistent with what Victim reported. Defendant was unable to be located at this time and a KOPS alert was issued. On 12:30 AM on May 26, 2026, Defendant was apprehended in Douglas County for speeding and was taken into custody on the KOPS alert. In reviewing Defendant's criminal history Defendant has a pending domestic assault involving the same victim from May 16th in court file ••-CR-••-••••. Defendant again was unable to be located and a KOPS alert was issued which expired prior to his arrest in this other matter.
