On December 11, 2025, at 0128 hours, Deputy McManus of the Ramsey County Sheriff’s Office attempted to stop a 2005 white Cadillac Escalade, MN PVD336, as the vehicle had been identified as a suspect vehicle in a recent St. Paul burglary. The deputy was driving an unmarked squad car equipped with lights and sirens. McManus saw the vehicle eastbound on 7th St near Montreal, St. Paul, Ramsey County. The deputy activated both emergency lights and sirens. The driver of the Escalade, later identified as Jason Joseph Ronald Bailey, [DOB REDACTED], accelerated away at speeds of 80 mph on residential streets.
Bailey was losing control of the vehicle due to the high speeds and road conditions. At St. Clair, Bailey slid into a snowbank. The deputy attempted a PIT maneuver on the Escalade, but Bailey was able to drive out of the snowbank and PIT. He continued to flee at speeds over 100 mph on I-35E northbound. He exited at Maryland eastbound and traveled between 80-90 mph. He ran multiple stop signs and red lights without slowing. St. Paul officers deployed stop sticks which slowed down the vehicle. McManus successfully stopped the vehicle at [ADDRESS REDACTED] with a successful PIT maneuver.
Bailey climbed over the female passenger and attempted to exit the vehicle. He ignored the deputy’s commands. McManus deployed a taser which was successful. Assisting officers took Bailey into custody. Bailey has convictions for Burglary 3 (2023), Burglary 3 (2022), Assault 2 (2022), Receiving Stolen Property (2022), Burglary 2 (2020), Theft of Motor Vehicle (2019), Burglary 3 (2019), Theft of Motor Vehicle (2017), Burglary 2 (2017), Theft of Motor Vehicle (2017).
