On 05/03/2026 at approximately 0845 hours, MPD officers responded to [ADDRESS REDACTED], Minneapolis, Hennepin County for a stabbing. Upon arrival, officers met with Victim RW at the front of the apartment complex. Officers observed a stab wound to the right side of Victim RW's chest and a cut on her right forearm. Victim [NAME REDACTED], ORLANDO SHARBARUS DARREL PERKINS aka ORLANDO SHARBARUS FITZGERALD, [DOB REDACTED] (now referred to as "Defendant") stabbed her during an argument and left the scene.
Victim RW stated that she and Defendant got back to the address around 0500-0600 that morning. An argument started because Defendant was talking to another female. Defendant got upset and he started packing up his belongings. While has was packing up, Defendant nudged Victim RW which made her upset. Victim RW stated that because of this she decided to pour bleach on Defendant's belongings. After pouring the bleach, Defendant and Victim [NAME REDACTED] in the bedroom. Victim RW stated that Defendant punched her and was pulling her hair.
She said that the fight spilled into the kitchen and at some point, Defendant started "choking" her. Initially with one hand, which she was able to remove. After removing his hand, she said that Defendant started choking her with two hands which made her struggle to breath. In an effort to defend herself, Victim RW stated that she reached for a knife to get him to stop. Victim [NAME REDACTED] was trying her best to get away. Victim RW stated Defendant ended up behind her and took the knife away and began attempting to stab her.
Victim RW stated she used her arms to block the knife, but she was unable to stop a stab to the right side of her chest and a cut on her right forearm. After that, she said that Defendant took his belongings and quickly left. EMS responded but Victim RW declined to be transported. Photos of her injuries were taken. Victim RW stated that her four children were present in the apartment when the assault took place. There is an active DANCO preventing Defendant from having contact with Victim RW (••-CR-••-••••) which is pending resolution with charges of 2nd Degree Assault/Prohibited Person Possessing a Firearm.
Four prior domestic violence reports were noted occurring between 5/2025 and 2/2026 in Minneapolis with Defendant listed as the aggressor. A KOPS alert was issued and Defendant was later arrested. Defendant is currently in custody at the Hennepin County Jail.
