On September 4, 2025, the Minnesota Human Trafficking Task Force (MNHITF), Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension (BCA), St. Paul Police Department (SPPD), Tribes United Against Sex Trafficking (TRUST), Detectives with the Blaine Police Department, and affiliated Minnesota agencies conducted a Juvenile Demand Suppression Detail in the City of Blaine MN. Advertisements were posted on MegaPersonals and Skip the Games-websites commonly used for the advertisement and solicitation of commercial sex.
The advertisement contact information routed all communications to a recorded law enforcement cellular recording system. Detectives, acting as one of the “chatters,” made contact with a male, later fully identified as Mario Douglas Herrera-Calero, [DOB REDACTED], hereinafter the Defendant. During the text conversation the Defendant agreed to pay cash in exchange for sex with a female he believed to be 17 years old. Specifically, the Defendant and law enforcement chatters made the following exchange: Defendant: “What is the time donation?” Detective: “200 h 100 hh 100qv.” Defendant: “Payment in person without deposit.” Detective: “ya but im 17 is that ok Defendant: “If it’s not a problem for you, it’s not a problem for me” Detective: “what u have in mind h hh qv” Defendant: “1 hour” Detective: “ok bare or cover” Defendant: “Naked” Detective: “aight 1 hr 200 bare full service” Defendant: “Anal oral and vaginal” Detective: “kool 200 and we have agreement ts” Defendant: “Yes” The Defendant then requested a picture to confirm the identity of the female he was soliciting and then directed to [ADDRESS REDACTED] NE, in the city of Blaine, Anoka County, Minnesota, and was successfully taken into custody.
During a statement with law enforcement, he said that he was browsing the internet and located the advertisement. He replied to it as a joke but was curious to see if it was real. He acknowledged that the individual he was chatting with told him they were 17 and he arrived at the meeting location as agreed to exchange money for the sex act. He said that he was unaware it was unlawful to hire a minor in the performance of sexual acts. Law Enforcement obtained a search warrant to forensically examine the Defendant's phone and located 2 02-CR-26-1681 Filed in District Court State of Minnesota 3/23/2026 the above referenced chat on the device he was carrying when arrested by police.
