On 09/23/2025 at 0750 hours, Maplewood Police were dispatched to [ADDRESS REDACTED]. (LaMettrys Collision) in Maplewood, Ramsey County for a Hit/Run report. Police met with the Complainant, LaMettrys employee LGT, who said that when he came to work he discovered that seven customer vehicles in the parking lot had been damaged. Some had been pushed up to 10 feet from their original parking spot. CCTV footage showed the suspect vehicle, a 2025 silver GMC truck pulling a silver 24' enclosed trailer, driving through the lot and striking the parked vehicles at about 0030 hours.
Later that day, LGT spotted the GMC and the trailer at an apartment complex at [ADDRESS REDACTED] (Trails Edge of Maplewood) in Maplewood, Ramsey County. By the time police arrived, the GMC was gone but the trailer was still there. The trailer had flat tires and was heavily damaged. LGT described the male driver of the GMC and said the GMC was displaying Florida license plates. Apartment complex CCTV showed the GMC and trailer arrive at 1:05 am on 09/23/2025. The suspect driving the GMC unhooked the trailer, left in the GMC, and briefly returned in the GMC at 9:11 am.
Footage also showed unique damage to the GMC’s back bumper. The license plate on the trailer (MN/CSJ5822) was stolen. Police, however, identified the trailer by its VIN and learned that it had been reported stolen out of Washington County on 09/22/2025. Stolen with the trailer was a 2008 Chevrolet Silverado with a Duramax engine and credit cards. One of the stolen credit cards was used later that same day to make fraudulent purchases in Maplewood. Maplewood police had already identified Tommy Michael SPACK Jr. [DOB REDACTED] as the suspect who made the fraudulent purchases.
SPACK was later arrested and in a post-Miranda interview, admitted using the stolen credit card and said he got it from Paige Marie REMER [DOB REDACTED]. See 62-CR- 25-7401. Pursuant to a search warrant, police dumped data from a phone that had been seized from SPACK. The data included numerous photos of a silver GMC bearing Florida license plate [PLATE REDACTED] with unique damage to its rear bumper. In addition, the data included messages between SPACK and REMER discussing a rented truck, screen shots of an AVIS rental agreement, and SPACK’s efforts to sell a 2008 Chevrolet Silverado with a Duramax engine and a large enclosed trailer that he had recently acquired.
Maplewood police confirmed that FL/07BIUV was a silver GMC and that it was an AVIS rental. They then determined that REMER rented the GMC for a single day on 9/14/25 at the Minneapolis/St. Paul Airport. AVIS CCTV footage showed that SPACK was with REMER when the GMC was rented. The GMC was never returned to AVIS. However, AVIS loss prevention personnel later found it and re-took possession. It was heavily damaged. Found in the vehicle was a handwritten “bill of sale” dated 09/26/2025. It was written by REMER and indicated that she was trading the GMC to Adam Acott SPAR [DOB REDACTED] in exchange for a 2008 Cadillac DTS (MN/ BZP657). SPACK signed the “bill of sale” as a “witness.” The “bill of sale” matched text messages in SPACK’s phone in which SPACK offered to sell the GMC to SPAR at a Kwik Trip in Chaska on 09/26/2025 and it matched CCTV footage from the Kwik Trip that showed SPACK driving the GMC and showing it to SPAR in the Kwik Trip parking lot.
