On February 16, 2026, Carlton County Sheriff’s Office Sergeant Miller observed two ATV’s operating on a public roadway in Carlton County without any registration on them. Sergeant Miller then observed the two ATV’s failing to stop at a stop sign and driving recklessly. Sergeant Miller then attempted to initiate a traffic stop on both ATV’s by activating his emergency lights. Upon activating his emergency lights, Sergeant Miller noticed the ATVs accelerating away at a high rate of speed in a posted 30 MPH speed limit zone.
Sergeant Miller then terminated the pursuit when the ATVs traveled onto a trail. Assisting law enforcement agencies positioned themselves near the exit routes of the trail. Cloquet Police Department Sergeant Cook observed two males matching the description of the drivers of the ATVs that fled Sergeant Miller. The two males surrendered themselves to Sergeant Cook. The two drivers were identified as Chaz Anthony Kedrowski [DOB REDACTED] hereinafter Defendant and Carter Emil Coleman [DOB REDACTED]. Upon arriving on the scene, Sergeant Miller spoke to Defendant.
Defendant confirmed that he and Carter Coleman were the drivers who fled him. Both ATVs that fled Sergeant Miller were found at the scene by law enforcement.
