Count 1Dangerous Weapons-Reckless Discharge of Firearm Within a MunicipalityWeapons
Probable Cause
During the first response, officers assisted ISABELLE MARIE SCHIMITT [DOB REDACTED] getting into the home as she was locked out. SCHMITT denied hearing any shots fired at that time but admitted to banging on the door as she was locked out by her brother, B. C. On the second response, officers observed 4 shell casings found by B. C.'s vehicle. B. C. Reported SCHMITT shot his vehicle tires and admitted it to him stating something along the lines of "what do you think about that, I short your tires out." Witnesses (fully identified in the police reports) reported SCHMITT also admitted doing this to them.
Officers obtained and executed a search warrant and recovered Diamondback DB9 9mm handgun containing two 9mm rounds from the trash can in the kitchen, underneath the trash bag. Officers also located an opened box of Herter's 9mm Target Ammunition in SCHMITT's bedroom. It should be noted SCHMITT was uncooperative with law enforcement during both calls and appeared intoxicated, telling them she had been at the bar for karaoke earlier that evening.
