On 11/23/25 at approximately 2258 hours, Brooklyn Center Officers responded to Speedway Gas Station located at 1901 57th Ave N for an assault report and met with Victim TC. Victim TC stated that the father of her children, LEVALE DESHUN TOWNSEL, [DOB REDACTED] (now referred to as "Defendant") assaulted her and would not stop the vehicle he was driving to let her out. Officers learned that the incident started at Victim TC's residence in Maple Grove. Victim TC said she allowed Defendant to use her vehicle earlier in the day and came to pick the vehicle up around 1600 hours.
Later that evening, Victim TC told Defendant that she wanted the vehicle back to go to the hospital and bring their children to get food. Defendant finally returned with the vehicle around 2200 hours, and Victim TC went to the driver's side to make contact with Defendant. Defendant had the window up and door locked and refused to open the door. Victim TC went to the passenger side and opened the door, reaching inside to turn off the ignition button. Defendant then punched Victim TC with a closed fist on the left side of her face and grabbed her left arm, pulled her in the vehicle, and pinned it behind her back.
Defendant then turned the vehicle on and started driving. Victim [NAME REDACTED] was fearful she would get injured and closed the car door. Defendant drove erratically, yelled at Victim TC and hit her several times while the vehicle was moving. Victim TC tried to put the vehicle out of drive several times to get the vehicle to stop, but Defendant continued to drive at a high rate of speed and "acted like" he was going to crash the vehicle at the southeast corner of 57th/Logan in Brooklyn Park but slammed on the brakes to stop the vehicle from actually crashing just prior.
Defendant drove to Speedway gas station where he parked, took the keys and Victim TC'S phone, and went inside to purchase some items. Victim TC used the cell phone of a security officer at Speedway to call 911. Officers attempted to make contact at Defendant's residence and did not locate him there. A warrant is requested in the interest of public safety. A DANCO is also requested.
