Based on reports from an incident occurring on or about January 30, 2026, your Complainant offers the following to establish probable cause: At approximately 4:08 P.M. On January 30, 2026, Cottage Grove Police Officers were dispatched on a welfare check at [ADDRESS REDACTED] South in the City of Cottage Grove, Washington County, State of Minnesota. The caller (W. T. F.) said his wife (C. A. B.) was currently at Woodwinds Hospital after she was assaulted by their son BRIAN THOMAS BERGLOF ([DOB REDACTED]). An Officer went to the hospital and spoke with W. T. F. And his daughter.
W. T. F. Said the assault occurred earlier that day around 3:45 P.M. W. T. F. Found C. A. B. On the garage floor yelling for help. W. T. F. Told officers he had to physically remove BERGLOF from C. A. B. While at the hospital officers learned that C. A. B. Had suffered a dislocated right shoulder as a result of the assault. BERGLOF became upset after being told to help put the Christmas tree away. BERGLOF began throwing food around the kitchen in a rage. BERGOLF then advanced toward C. A. B. And she ran towards the front entryway.
BERGOLF caught up to C. A. B. And pushed her to the ground. C. A. B. Glasses were knocked off her head and she had gash on her forehead, which was still visible when officers spoke with her. BERGOLG than began hitting C. A. B. Until he was pulled off her. Officers reported that C. A. B. Was in visual pain and was groaning. Officers then went to the home and spoke with BERGOLF, who admitted to pushing C. A. B. To the ground. BERGOLF also said that he punched C. A. B. Several times. BERGOLF confirmed he was angry after being asked to put the Christmas tree away.
