On January 6, 2026, a school resource officer for a St. Louis Park Middle School took a report of a criminal sexual offense involving one of their students. Officers reached out to the student's mother, Witness herein, for a statement. Witness informed them that her daughter, a known 13-year-old female, hereinafter Victim, reported a sexual assault that took place at their apartment located near the 8300 block of 31st St W in St. Louis Park, Hennepin County, Minnesota. Witness reported that Victim identified the perpetrator as FAUSTO MIGUEL LASO MISHQUI [DOB REDACTED], Defendant herein.
Victim [NAME REDACTED] on January 8, 2026. During the forensic interview, Victim [NAME REDACTED] in August of 2025, the cousin of her stepfather, whom she identified as "Miguel" or "old man" (later confirmed to be Defendant), was living with them in their apartment. Victim stated that "Miguel" (Defendant) began touching her sexually when she was in the 5th grade. At times during the interview, Victim was embarrassed to discuss the abuse and different body parts. Victim stated that Defendant first penetrated her when she was 12 or 13 and in 7th grade.
Victim [NAME REDACTED] incidents of oral, vaginal, and anal penetration that occurred in the home. Victim [NAME REDACTED] in which Defendant put his penis or "man part" in her mouth. Victim [NAME REDACTED] on her knees with Defendant standing in front of her. Victim described the feeling as "gagging." Victim further disclosed that the first time that Defendant vaginally penetrated her was in the living room on the couch. This was while Defendant was living with them and sleeping in the living room.
Victim [NAME REDACTED] in which Defendant came into her room and penetrated her anally and vaginally while she was laying on her bed. Victim [NAME REDACTED] was after Defendant moved out but Defendant returned to the apartment to grab his belongings. Victim reported asking Defendant to leave and that he refused to leave. Victim described feeling pain "inside" of her lower part when Defendant's "man part" was in her "lower part." Victim stated it felt "horrible" when Defendant put his "man part" inside of her buttocks.
Victim described Defendant purchasing candy bars and alcohol for her and communicating with her on "WhatsApp." A forensic examination of Victim's cellphone is underway. Witness provided a statement to law enforcement that assisted in identifying Defendant and confirmed that he was living in the home in August of 2025 and moved out in September of 2025. Witness confirmed that Victim reported the abuse to her on January 6th, 2026. Witness also reported that she had noticed changes in Victim's behavior, including trouble sleeping, challenging behavior at school, self-harm, lack of appetite, and frequent episodes of crying.
