On December 31, 2025, at 3:47PM, Bloomington Police Department officers were dispatched to Wendy's at [ADDRESS REDACTED] West in the city of Bloomington, Hennepin County, Minnesota on report of a male threatening staff with a knife. Dispatch advised the suspect was a white male wearing a camouflaged ski mask, black jacket, gray sweatpants, and carrying bags. Upon arrival, officers spoke with two employees about the incident. The first employee, LAGA [DOB REDACTED], told them the suspect and another male were sitting in the restaurant without ordering food for about fifteen minutes.
At one point, the suspect stood up and pulled his pants down. LAGA said he confronted the suspect, telling him he cannot do that in the restaurant. LAGA said the suspect then started to yell and argue with him while holding his hand in his right jacket pocket. LAGA thought the suspect had a knife as he told LAGA he would kill him. LAGA told the suspect to leave, or he would call police. LAGA said the suspect left the store at that time. The other employee, IGC [DOB REDACTED], told officers he was in the back office with another employee, RGC [DOB REDACTED], when he heard yelling from the dining area of the restaurant.
He went to the front and observed the suspect yelling and cursing at LAGA. IGC heard the suspect yell, "I will kill you!" while he had his right hand in his jacket pocket and was holding what appeared to be a knife. IGC said the suspect left the store but not before IGC snapped a photograph, which was provided to officers. A witness, CRB [DOB REDACTED], came forward and said he was sitting in the restaurant at the time of the incident but was unsure what started the altercation. CRB said the suspect and LAGA were yelling and swearing back and forth at each other for about five minutes.
CRB did not see a knife but did hear the suspect yell, "I'll kill you!" Officers located a suspect, later identified as, JACOB PATRICK HALL ([DOB REDACTED], “DEFENDANT” hereinafter), inside of a bathroom at a nearby Fresh Thyme grocery store and detained him without incident. Officers brought LAGA to Fresh Thyme and he positively identified DEFENDANT as the suspect who threatened him. Officers located a switch blade knife in DEFENDANT’s pants pocket during a search incident to arrest. DEFENDANT is in custody.
