On April 3, 2026, officers with the Minneapolis Police Department responded to a report of an assault on the 700 block of 18th Street in the City of Minneapolis, Hennepin County, MN. Upon arrival, officers spoke with an individual, fully identified in officers’ reports, Victim herein. Victim [NAME REDACTED] had a bloody nose and a visible hematoma on the top of her hand. Victim [NAME REDACTED] was assaulted by an individual identified as James Marvin White, [DOB REDACTED], Defendant herein. Victim told officers she and Defendant were outside when Defendant started to record Victim [NAME REDACTED]. Victim then slapped the phone out of Defendant’s hands and Defendant punched Victim [NAME REDACTED], causing Victim [NAME REDACTED] on the ground.
While Victim [NAME REDACTED], Defendant stomped on Victim. The assault was recorded on surveillance camera. Officers then took photographs of Victim’s injuries which included a broke front tooth. Victim [NAME REDACTED] on the top of her head. Defendant told officers he and Victim got into an argument because Victim called Defendant a racial slur. Defendant took out his phone to record Victim. Defendant said Victim slapped his phone out of his hand while Defendant was calling his sister. That upset Defendant who then punched Victim, knocking her to the ground.
Defendant said he did this out of anger and also admitted to stomping Victim [NAME REDACTED] on the ground. Defendant said he stomped Victim [NAME REDACTED] was grabbing Defendant’s legs. Defendant is currently in custody.
