On 04/28/2026 at about 1756 hours, St. Paul Police were dispatched to an apartment at [address omitted] in St. Paul, Ramsey County for an assault. Upon arrival, the complainant, ALW, told police that Diamond Shiray ALLEN (DOB/1998-12-27) got into an argument with ALW’s two children, confronted them, and had been verbally aggressive toward them. As result, ALW’s frightened eight-year son, TW, came running into the residence, told ALW about the altercation, and said ALLEN was inside the residence. ALW said she also heard banging noises, so she grabbed a metal pole and went to the kitchen door.
When she got there, she said, ALLEN was outside the door screen door holding a wooden stick that was about 10 ft long. She said ALLEN threatened her with the stick, told her to come outside, and then broke the screen by poking the stick through the screen door. Police found ALLEN outside the address. She was very agitated. She said that ALW’s 13-year old daughter had been bullying other kids and she confronted ALW about it. She said that when ALW came to the door ALW had a pole, so ALLEN grabbed a stick.
ALLEN denied entering the residence and denied pushing the children. Police saw that the ALW’s door screen was ripped and they recovered the wooden stick that ALLEN had used. They also listened to an audio recording that ALW made of part of the incident. On the recording ALLEN can be heard yelling and saying "im finna beat your ass, come out here." Police spoke to ALW’s 13-year old daughter, AW, who said that she and her 8-year old brother, TW, were playing in the backyard. ALLEN approached them, called them disrespectful, and told them to get their mother.
When AW refused, ALLEN tried to enter the residence and shoved TW to the ground. TW then ran upstairs to get their mother. Police also spoke to TW who said ALLEN got into a verbal altercation with AW and told them to go get their mother. When they refused, ALLEN entered the kitchen area of the residence and he ran upstairs to get his mother. ALLEN was arrested. During a Mirandized interview, ALLEN said she got into a verbal altercation with ALW because AWL’s daughter had been bullying a little girl in the neighborhood for some time.
She said that she had been trying to have conversation with ALW about it, but that ALW kept blowing her off. Yesterday, she said, ALW’s daughter was being disrespectful so she went to ALW’s door, knocked on it, and tried to get ALW to come outside. She said that when ALW came to the door she was holding a metal pole so ALLEN grabbed a wooden stick. ALLEN admitted being “rowdy” and “cursing” and admitted saying that she was “gonna beat” ALW’s “ass.” Finally, ALLEN admitted to poking the stick through ALW’s screen.
