On January 4, 2024, Minneapolis Police took a delayed report of domestic violence from an adult female Victim. Victim described meeting up with DONALD JAMES PERRON [DOB REDACTED], hereinafter "Defendant", on October 28, 2023, at a bar in northeast Minneapolis, Hennepin County. After leaving the bar together and driving to Defendant's place, also in Minneapolis, an argument started. When they got to Defendant's place he kept pushing Victim down. Victim grabbed Defendant and then he grabbed her hand.
Defendant squeezed so hard he broke her hand. Defendant then threw her across the room. They argued for the next three hours about her leaving him, and Victim was finally able to leave and went to a friend's house where she slept. Victim went to the hospital 2 days later because her hand was still hurting and she found out her right hand was broken. On January 2, 2024, Victim [NAME REDACTED] was granted an ex-parte Order for Protection (OFP) in Hennepin County Court file 27-DA-FA-24-2. In the petition Victim [NAME REDACTED] incidents of abuse and described them.
Victim [NAME REDACTED] in a significant romantic relationship and living together from September to October of 2023. Later on January 4, 2024, Victim also reported to law enforcement an incident from December 23, 2023, not knowing she needed to complete both steps of reporting and getting an OFP. The case was not submitted to the Hennepin County Attorney's office for review until September of 2025. Defendant has the following felony criminal history: - 4th Degree Criminal Sexual Conduct - Victim aged 13-16, in Dakota County Court file 19-K0-06-003135; and - Violation of Predatory Offender Registration Requirements in Hennepin County Court file 27-CR-08- 21629. Defendant's whereabouts are unknown.
Based on the seriousness of this case and the possible penalties attached, a warrant is requested to address bail and conditions necessary to protect the public safety and ensure Defendant's reappearance.
