On January 1, 2026, law enforcement was dispatched to a delayed report of an assault that had occurred on Euclid Avenue in the City of Anoka, Anoka County earlier that morning. Officers arrived and met with STC who reported that she had been assaulted by her brother-in-law, FREDERICK EUGENE CASON [DOB REDACTED], the Defendant herein. STC reported she previously lived with the Defendant for approximately five months in early 2025. STC reported that she got into an argument with the Defendant while getting a ride from the Defendant from another sister’s house back to her own residence.
At one point, the Defendant exited the vehicle, as did STC and the Defendant punched her several times with a closed fist in her face. She fell onto her back and the Defendant straddled her and again punched her repeatedly in the face and jaw area. The Defendant ultimately got off of her, returned to the vehicle and drove away. STC returned to her own residence where she noticed that her two front teeth had been completely broken off and a third tooth was loose. STC was having difficulty breathing and in extreme pain.
Officers observed STC to have a visibly swollen jaw and lips, as well as lacerations inside of her mouth and lips. STC was transported via ambulance to the hospital for further evaluation of a potential broken jaw. Officers responded to the Defendants residence where he was taken into custody. The Defendant declined to speak with law enforcement.
