On November 6, 2025, at approximately 4:30 P.M., Officer Tamke of the Austin Police Department was dispatched to the T-Mobile Store located at 1011 8th Avenue NW in the City of Austin, County of Mower, for a report of a theft. Officer Tamke arrived and made contact with the store manager, K. S. K. S. Advised that DAJUAN TRU ABREGO, DOB/071203, the defendant herein, had come into the store that day and stole an Apple Watch Ultra 3 display (value of $800). K. S. Provided Tamke security footage of the incident.
Tamke reviewed the footage and observed the defendant ripping the watch off the display and putting it in his pocket. The defendant was there to purchase an iPhone 16 and a screen protector. After the defendant steals the watch, he sits down and pays for the iPhone and screen protector only. The defendant then leaves the store without paying for the watch. K. S. Also located the defendant’s Facebook page and observed a recent story where the defendant shows off his new phone and pulls out an Apple Watch from his pocket.
K. S. Provided the video to Officer Tamke. Officer Tamke learned that the defendant resides in Albert Lea and notified Albert Lea Police to arrest the defendant for theft. On January 9, 2025, Officer Tamke confirmed the defendant had not yet been arrested for the theft. The defendant is currently in custody at the Freeborn County Jail on unrelated charges. An arrest warrant is necessary to bring him before the Court. A review of the defendant’s criminal history reflects a prior conviction for 3rd degree Burglary dated January 28, 2025 (Freeborn County District Court File ••-CR-••-••••).
