At approximately 11:18 P.M. On June 06, 2025, Wright County Sheriff’s Deputy Preusse was driving on Interstate 94 near mile marker 179 in Clearwater Township, Wright County, Minnesota when he saw a white 2002 Chevrolet Trailblazer bearing Minnesota license plate [PLATE REDACTED]. He stopped the vehicle because its rear left brake light was stuck on. He identified the driver as Christian Reuben Hoff [DOB REDACTED] (hereinafter “the defendant”). Deputy Preusse noticed a strong odor of fresh marijuana coming from inside the vehicle.
When Deputy Preusse asked the defendant if there was any marijuana inside the vehicle, the defendant indicated the passenger had some. The defendant opened the glove compartment in front of the passenger, which revealed a sandwich baggie containing green leaf marijuana and three marijuana joints. Deputy Preusse searched the vehicle. In a backpack in the backseat area was full of marijuana packed in bags. The defendant admitted ownership of the backpack. Under the driver’s seat, Deputy Preusse found six glass jars containing THC concentrate.
In a storage bin in the trunk area, Deputy Preusse located 20 pre-rolled marijuana joints. The defendant told Deputy Pederson that he grows marijuana for himself and rolls joints for other people. The total weight of the green leafy marijuana belonging to the defendant was 884.28 grams, or 1.94 pounds. The defendant told Deputy Preusse that each of the six THC concentrate jars contains about 1 ounce, or 28 grams. By defendant’s admission, the total weight of the THC concentrate is 168 grams. The suspected marijuana and TCH concentrate were sent to the lab for further analysis.
Pursuant to lab policy, the lab does not test suspected marijuana substances until a trial date is set.
