Probable Cause
On March 2, 2026, St. Louis Park Police Officers responded to a package theft report at an apartment building located at 8115 Hwy 7, St. Louis Park, Hennepin County. The reporting party, F. Q., stated that they had $150 worth of medication delivered and it had been taken by another resident. Officers made contact with the apartment management who provided surveillance video of RENALDO LAMONT SHELL, Defendant herein, taking the package belonging to F. Q. Surveillance showed that on February 21, 2026, at approximately 1553 hours, the Defendant picked up F. Q.'s package off of a bench in the vestibule, appeared to review the shipping label, and then took the package to the garbage room.
He then exited the garbage room without the package with the contents either concealed or discarded. He then walked from the garbage room to his apartment. Apartment management was able to identify the Defendant through prior contacts, his likeness on surveillance footage, and that he went from the garbage room to his apartment. Management stated that the Defendant has had several prior incidents of theft within the apartment and was sent warnings of lease termination if the behavior continued. The Defendant is currently out of custody.
