M., Big Lake officers were dispatched to [ADDRESS REDACTED], in the city of Big Lake, Sherburne County, Minnesota. Upon arrival, officers spoke with P. G., who advised that his stepson, identified as Conner William Halverson, [DOB REDACTED], hereinafter referred to as the defendant, took off out the back door. P. G. Stated that the defendant had a knife. P. G. Reported that he came to this residence to pick up the defendant for work. He and the defendant got into an argument regarding his attire for his work day.
Additionally, the defendant wanted to be prepaid for his work. The defendant got upset and asked P. G. If he wanted to fight. The defendant went to the kitchen to grab a butcher knife to confront the P. G. The defendant held the knife to P. G. At chest level. P. G. Described the knife as having an eight inch blade. The defendant’s brother grabbed the defendant and threw him to the ground, kicked the knife away, and then called 911. The defendant started breaking things in the house, including a glass stovetop.
While P. G. Was speaking with law enforcement, the defendant was continually calling P. G. Officer Hanson told the defendant that he needed to turn himself in or they would use a helicopter to locate him. The defendant was located and taken into custody. He slammed his head against the police cage and told law enforcement that he ingested controlled substances. He was taken to the hospital. After he was cleared, he was taken to the Sherburne County Jail. The defendant has prior convictions for Felony Domestic Assault, Domestic Assault, Fourth Degree Assault, Threats of Violence, Assault in the Second Degree, Threats of Violence, all within the last five years.
