On November 7, 2025, officers were dispatched to McDonald’s on Xerxes Avenue North in Brooklyn Center, Hennepin County, Minesota, for the report of someone hit in the head with a bat. Upon arrival, officers located DAMION DASHAI GREEN [DOB REDACTED], Defendant herein, with a cut on top of head and blood coming down his face. Defendant was speaking rapidly, pacing back and forth, and displaying signs of paranoia. Defendant was able to relay that he went to a nearby Burger King and took a soda without paying for it.
He said someone inside Burger King became upset with him, so he threatened to throw it at them. He then left and went to Subway, then to McDonalds. He said the same person from Burger King found him in the McDonalds parking lot and struck him once in the head with a large stick or bat. Other officers on scene met with a Burger King employee, Victim herein. The Victim [NAME REDACTED] at work when he saw the Defendant come in and start filling up his own bottle with soda. The Victim [NAME REDACTED], and the manager asked the Defendant not to steal soda.
The Defendant continued trying to exit with the soda, so the Victim stood in front of the door and asked the Defendant to leave the soda behind. The Defendant responded by pushing the Victim through the first set of interior doors. The Defendant then flipped up the bottle he was holding as though he was going to hit the Victim [NAME REDACTED]. The Defendant also pulled out some sort of knife. The Victim and his manager escorted the Defendant off the premises. The Victim and his manager were familiar with the Defendant as the Defendant frequently comes into the restaurant and the employees give him leftover food.
Upon leaving Burger King, the Defendant then walked over to the Subway in the shared parking lot. The Victim and his manager followed to make sure everything was calm. The Defendant again pulled out the knife on the Victim, so the Victim [NAME REDACTED] went back to Burger King. The Victim’s dad arrived shortly after this happened, and the Victim [NAME REDACTED]. He and his dad drove over to McDonalds to eat. When they pulled in, they saw the Defendant in the parking lot. The Defendant again brandished the knife and began approaching the Victim [NAME REDACTED]. The Victim grabbed a nearby tree branch and hit the Defendant once as he came at them with the knife.
The Victim and his dad drove back to Burger King and called 911. Police also spoke to the Victim’s manager who corroborated the Victim’s sequence of events. The State respectfully requests a warrant issue to protect public safety and ensure the Defendant’s presence in court.
