On January 8, 2026, Deputy Trester was informed that Karissa Lynn Kammerer, [DOB REDACTED] was incarcerated in the Olmsted County Adult Detention Center pursuant to an active warrant from Fayette County, Iowa. Deputy Trester contacted the Fayette County, Iowa Sheriff's Office to confirm the warrant and their intent to extradite Karissa Lynn Kammerer from the State of Minnesota. Deputy Trester requested and received a copy of the warrant issued from the State of Iowa, Fayette County Court for criminal case number SRCR074780 signed by Judge John J. Sullivan on November 3, 2025 charging Karissa Lynn Kammerer with the offenses of Controlled Substance Violation in violation of 124.401(1)(b)(7), Failure to Affix Drug Stamp in violation of 453B.12, Possession of Controlled Substance-Marijuana 1st Offense in violation of 124.401(1)(5)(b) and Possession of Controlled Substance-Methamphetamine 1st Offense in violation of 124.401(5). On January 8, 2026 Deputy Trester conducted an extradition interview with Karissa Lynn Kammerer at the Adult Detention Center.
Karissa Lynn Kammerer verbally identified herself and stated she was in Iowa at the time of the allegation Complainant has reasonable grounds to believe that Karissa Lynn Kammerer, who is currently in the custody of the Olmsted County Sheriff, is the person described in the documents received from the State of Iowa and is a fugitive from justice. The said Karissa Lynn Kammerer should be brought before the Olmsted County District Court so that she may be advised of her rights and a determination be made whether or not she waives extradition to the State of Iowa or whether shecontests and demands a hearing relative to the right of the State of Iowa to return her to the State of Iowa.
