Hired drove the Pacifica out of the garage at 11:53 PM. Hired parked the Hyundai next to the Pacifica in the parking lot in a manner that the two driver’s doors were next to each other. The Hyundai left the lot followed by the Pacifica. At 12:23 AM, Hired returned to the building on foot. Hired entered the open garage door, and he tried adjusting the sensors he had kicked to close the door. Hired tried to close the door using the wall control. Officer Super arrived and made contact with Hired. Officers spoke to the company that owned the Pacifica and learned that the only person driving the 2 62-CR-26-2371 Filed in District Court State of Minnesota 4/8/2026 Pacifica at the time of the burglary was NURADIN ISMAEL KELIL [DOB REDACTED]. At around 8 AM on April 4, 2026, officers were sent to 503 9th Avenue Northwest, New Brighton on a Hyundai Santa Fe bearing Minnesota license plates TEM 404 that was illegally parked in the driveway at that location.
Officers learned that the Santa Fe registered to 617 8th Avenue NW – the same building where Hired was arrested. The location where the Santa Fe was recovered is about 3 blocks from 617 8th Avenue NW. Officers later spoke to the Santa Fe’s owner and learned that it had been stolen from the underground parking garage sometime after 4:30 PM on April 3, 2026. The Santa Fe had been left unlocked with its keys in the center console. Officers later determined that the Hyundai key fob recovered from Hired opened the Santa Fe that had been recovered later that morning after his arrest.
A packet of honey was on the driver seat – the same honey that Hired had in his possession when he was arrested.
