On December 3, 2025, Blaine PD Detective Sommer was informed by Coon Rapids PD that NATHAN DANIEL HOLMES [DOB REDACTED], Defendant herein, was likely in violation of his predatory offender registration (POR) requirements. Detective Sommer confirmed that Defendant's registered POR address is in Lakeville, MN, and his secondary address is in Eagan, MN, both in Dakota County. However, records and information obtained by Detective Sommer indicate that Defendant has been living at 345 89th Lane NE in Blaine, Anoka County, MN. Defendant had contact with law enforcement on various dates between July 6 and December 4, 2025, at or near the Blaine address.
On July 6, 2025, a domestic incident occurred at or near the address between Defendant and his girlfriend. On November 22, 2025, Defendant was involved in a civil dispute at or near the address and was eventually charged with felony criminal damage to property for damaging a person's vehicle during the dispute. The court file number for the criminal charge is 02-CR-25-7641, and the case is set for a first appearance on January 23, 2026, at 1:30pm. On December 4, 2025, officers spoke to Defendant about his residence.
Defendant said, "It's technically Lakeville, but I'm out here 'cause she's in fu**ing treatment." The owner of the apartment building at 345 89th Lane NE told Detective Sommer that the tenant is Samantha Chatham and that other males were living there, including her boyfriend, "Nate." Lakeville Detective Witschorik spoke to Defendant's parents, who reside at the Lakeville address, and they confirmed that he had not been living there for months and no longer speaks to them. They said he was living with his girlfriend in Blaine.
They also said they had reminded Defendant to update his POR address upon leaving. On December 16, 2025, Detective Sommer was aware of an incident in Coon Rapids involving Defendant as the suspect. It was reported that someone, later confirmed to be Defendant, stole several tools from a person's storage unit. Coon Rapids PD confirmed that Defendant had rented his own storage unit at the same location and listed 345 89th Ln NE in Blaine as his address in the rental agreement on October 21, 2025. When questioned by officers, Defendant confirmed he had been staying in Blaine but said he still lived in Lakeville.
According to court records, Defendant is required to comply with POR because he was found guilty and adjudicated delinquent of Felony 1st Degree Criminal Sexual Conduct on December 14, 2001, in Hennepin County (27-JX-01-065153). Since then, he has had at least three felony convictions in Hennepin County for violating his POR requirements. They were entered on 8/23/24 (27-CR-24-312), 2/3/10 (27-CR- 09-42239), and 11/1/07 (27-CR-06-017178). As noted above, Defendant has a felony case (02-CR-25-7641) set for a first appearance on January 23, 2026, at 1:30pm.
