Between November 29, 2025, and December 24, 2025, a series of thefts occurred at multiple Target retail locations located within Hennepin County, Minnesota. Investigation identified the suspect as SAMARAH DENISE ADAMS [DOB REDACTED], hereafter Defendant. On December 18, 2025, a Target Field Investigator contacted law enforcement and reported that Defendant, a former Target employee, had been posing as a Shipt shopper and fraudulently obtaining merchandise from Target stores throughout the metro area.
The investigator advised that Defendant had previously been terminated from Target in 2024 for committing internal theft. Target Asset Protection and multiple law enforcement agencies reviewed surveillance footage, loss prevention reports, and internal Target records confirming that Defendant used the same scheme at several Target locations within Hennepin County, Minnesota. In each incident, Defendant falsely represented herself as a Shipt shopper picking up a pre-approved order, causing Target employees to retrieve and bag merchandise which Defendant then removed from the store without paying.
The following incidents were confirmed: 1. November 29, 2025 – Brooklyn Park Target At approximately 2:01 P.M., Defendant posed as a Shipt shopper and exited the store with clothing valued at $308.46 without paying. Surveillance shows Defendant approaching a checkout employee and asking for assistance bagging items. The employee did not verify the Shipt order. Defendant exited the store and placed the merchandise into a waiting white SUV occupied by two unknown females before leaving the parking lot. 2. December 1, 2025 – Minneapolis (Lake Street) Target At approximately 2:15 P.M., Defendant again posed as a Shipt shopper and exited the store with clothing valued at $494.00.
