On June 10, 2024, L. B. Allowed her friend Holly Alexandra Bright [DOB REDACTED], Defendant herein, to drive her motor vehicle to transport her to the Goodwill located on Coon Rapids Blvd NW, in the City of Coon Rapids, Anoka County. As they were shopping, L. B. Used the bathroom, and when she came out, Defendant had left the store with L. B.’s vehicle, without permission. L. B. Began texting Defendant asking her to return the vehicle as she had only given her permission to drive it to Goodwill. Defendant indicated she would return it but never did and indicated L. B. Had to wait 30 days to report the vehicle stolen since she gave Defendant permission to drive it on that day.
Inside the vehicle, L. B. Had her purse, house keys, and medications. L. B. Indicated she was going to report the vehicle as stolen and Defendant attempted to talk her out of it before becoming verbally aggressive. Specifically, Defendant threatened that L. B. Would never see her vehicle again if she reported it as being stolen. Once reported, officers attempted to convince Defendant to return the vehicle, which Defendant continued to refuse to do. On June 18, 2024, L. B.’s vehicle was recovered near 44th and Morgan Ave N, Minneapolis, which is near Defendant’s boyfriend’s residence.
The vehicle sustained heavy front-end damage and was missing a license plate.
