AA said, “Don’t come in my house!” MCDOWELL told her to grab the Xbox. She was going to grab the Xbox and her stuff when AA went inside the house and started grabbing her. As she was leaving the house, AA grabbed her purse. They started pulling on the purse, and she was able to retrieve it. C1 said she saw AA attack MCDOWELL inside the house. C2 said he was in the rear passenger seat of the vehicle and AA was in the front passenger seat. He did 2 62-CR-26-2447 Filed in District Court State of Minnesota 4/10/2026 not pay attention to what MCDOWELL or AA were arguing about.
AA reached over to the driver’s seat and started hitting MCDOWELL with her cellphone. MCDOWELL pulled the vehicle into an auto shop, and they drove back to the house. MCDOWELL told C1 and C2 to grab their stuff. AA told them that no one could go into the house. AA went inside the house and started grabbing and pulling C1 out of the house. MCDOWELL went inside and grabbed the Xbox. AA started attacking MCDOWELL. They left the residence. After a Miranda advisory, MCDOWELL spoke to an officer. He said they were in the car and AA started arguing.
AA threatened to break his things. AA reached over the middle compartment and started hitting and kicking him. He pulled over in a parking lot and pushed AA against the front passenger door to stop her. AA called police. He drove them back to the residence to drop off AA. AA did not want him to go inside the residence. He told C1, who was inside, to grab his Xbox. AA grabbed C1 from behind. MCDOWELL went inside the house and grabbed the Xbox. AA started hitting him from behind with her cellphone and continued to hit him as he walked toward the door with his Xbox.
AA reached over his head and took her hand to his face with her cellphone in her hand. His head was hit multiple times, causing injury to his lips. One of his teeth was chipped. C2 grabbed the Xbox from him. MCDOWEL reached back, grabbed AA, and pulled her forward. AA fell off of the stairs onto her buttocks. MCDOWELL left the residence with his children.
