On April 9, 2026, at approximately 2:55 P.M., Saint Paul Officers responded to a domestic on the 200 block of Bates Avenue, Saint Paul, County of Ramsey. AA called 911 and said her boyfriend beat her while inside a black Tahoe. She requested medics. The dispatcher heard a male asking for his items and saying that a female was hitting him. There were drops of blood all over the front steps of the building when officers arrived. Officers arrived and spoke with AA. AA said she got into a verbal altercation with her boyfriend-DEARRIAS ACE MCDOWELL, [DOB REDACTED]. He became upset and cussed at her when she asked about the money that he owed her.
MCDOWELL began punching her. AA recorded some of the incident. Officer Lee viewed the video and noted MCDOWELL is seen reaching over and said that he would pull over and “beat your m************ ass.” AA said she called 911. MCDOWELS dropped her off one block from her home. As she walked to her house with her child, [NAME REDACTED] in front of the house. She told him not to go inside the house. He said he was going to get his daughter. AA entered the house, and MCDOWELL followed her inside. Inside, MCDOWELL continued to punch her and damaged walls.
At one point, she was lying on the stairs and MCDOWELL choked her with both hands. AA said MCDOWELL also had his two children assault her. MCDOWELL grabbed her, and threw her out of the residence. She flew to the bottom of the front steps of the house. When asked about the strangulation, AA said MCDOWELL told her, “B****, you’re gonna quit playing with me.” AA said she was not able to breathe, speak, or scream. AA had a scratch to her face. AA said MCDOWELL has been staying at the residence for a couple of weeks and has property there.
SG had home video of MCDOWELL following AA into the house. A video also shows AA flying out through the front door of the house, and to the bottom of the stairs. As Officer Yang responded to the incident, MCDOWELL, who was driving a black Tahoe, waved at the officer. MCDOWELL had fresh blood on his lips and his lower lip was swollen. MCDOWELL declined medics at this time. MCDOWELL said his girlfriend, AA, and his son, C2, were going shopping for a new vehicle. AA said that she was going to break his things.
He told her that if she touched “his s***, he was going to f*** her up.” MCDOWELL said AA busted his lips. MCDOWEL did not know what upset AA because she always gets upset. MCDOWELL said he drove them back to the residence. He tried to get C2’s Xbox, but AA started attacking him. MCDOWELL said he pushed AA because she was attacking him. When medics arrived, MCDOWELL said he wanted to be seen by them. MCDOWELL was arrested for Strangulation. During the transport to the jail, he said he wanted to press charges against AA. CI, said she was at home and saw them pull up to the house.
