On November 11, 2025, the Coon Rapids Police Department received a phone call from S. I. V., Victim herein, who reported that his vehicle was broken into when it was parked inside the underground parking garage at Spring House Apartments, located at [ADDRESS REDACTED] NW, city of Coon Rapids, county of Anoka, Minnesota. Victim reported that around 3:00 AM on November 11, 2025, he went to his car to retrieve something and noticed the driver's side passenger window was broken. Victim also reported that he noticed multiple items missing from his car, such as a Sony sound bar, Sony wireless speaker, JBL wireless speaker, and VC box.
Victim [NAME REDACTED] at $1,000 and it would cost approximately $380 to repair the window. Video surveillance from the apartment complex shows that at approximately 12:16 AM on November 11, 2025, a male, later identified as Troy Nicholas Chamberlain [DOB REDACTED], Defendant herein, opens an unsecure exterior door and enters the north elevator lobby of the apartment complex. Defendant takes the elevator to the underground garage and is observed approaching several vehicles. Defendant then walks towards Victims vehicle, but the vehicle is out of camera view.
When Defendant is again observed on camera he is seen running out of the garage with a tote and white box. Defendant's vehicle was stopped during a traffic stop on November 13, 2025. Defendant admitted that he was at the Spring House Apartments, used a window punch to break the window on Victim's vehicle, and took the white box with the sound bar along with the bin which included the other speakers.
