That on July 1, 2025, at approximately 1729 hours, Officer Y. I., Metro Transit Police, responded to an operator assault near Central Avenue and Columbia Parkway, Minneapolis, Hennepin County, Minnesota. Upon arrival, Off. Y. I. Met with the complaining witness, [NAME REDACTED]C., who is a Transit Street Supervisor who was monitoring bus traffic in the area. P. K. C. Stated that a person, later identified as Defendant herein, Daniel Philip Bier, [DOB REDACTED], had approached him and asked what he was doing.
P. K. C. Stated that after he told Defendant what he was doing that Defendant told him that he couldn’t park there and then spit on him through the open window. Off. Y. I. Observed spit on the vehicle door. Defendant was unable to be found but video and a photograph were able to be obtained from surveillance cameras. On 8/28/25, Off. Y. I. Was in the same area and observed a person that matched Defendant’s description and using the photograph from the date of the incident he believed they were the same person and conducted an investigatory stop.
Off. Y. I. Explained the reason for the stop and Defendant stated that he had not spit on P. K. C. But stated that he had spit on the vehicle.
