On March 10, 2026, Metro Transit Police Department Officer(s) observed two individuals smoking suspected narcotics in the upper elevator lobby at the Light Rail Lake Street South tower in Minneapolis, Hennepin County, Minnesota. One of these individuals was later identified as Bobby Earl Medlock, Jr. [DOB REDACTED], "MEDLOCK" herein. Officer(s) monitoring cameras of the area observed a known woman and MEDLOCK entering an elevator together while MEDLOCK was holding a plastic baggie containing a white substance.
MEDLOCK then poured contents of the baggie into a folded piece of paper the woman was holding. Shortly after, MEDLOCK revealed another plastic baggie containing a white substance. MEDLOCK then pulled out a glass bubble pipe. The woman then concealed her piece of paper behind her back when another rider walked by and then placed the paper into her right jacket pocket. MEDLOCK then pulled out a lighter and started smoking out of the glass bubble pipe. MEDLOCK then handed the glass bubble pipe to the woman who then began smoking from the glass bubble pipe.
The woman and MEDLOCK were detained by officer(s). In a search of their persons, the woman was found to have a folded piece of paper in her right jacket pocket. The folded piece of paper contained approximately 0.04 gram (without packaging) of field tested positive methamphetamine. MEDLOCK was found to have a plastic baggie in his left jacket pocket which contained approximately 0.77 gram (without packaging) of field tested positive methamphetamine. Defendant is currently in custody.
