On October 16, 2025, a data tip that contained a cybertip. The cybertip contained two files of suspected child sexual abuse material (“CSAM”) that had been uploaded to Discord in early September 2025. The tip contained the email address of thatoneperson***@gmail.com, username “d3adly****.” The top also contained an IP address. Discord provided the same email address and username. A phone number, billing address of NW Rochester, MN, Olmsted County and the name of “Donnie Reece 3th” was also provided.
Through additional subpoenas it was confirmed that the email address, phone number, and address were associated with DONNIE RAY REECE III [DOB REDACTED]. A search of Reece’s residence was done on December 18, 2025. Reece answered the door. When he was advised that law enforcement had a search warrant for his person and residence he attempted to retreat back into his house. Reece had to be taken to the ground and handcuffed. During the search on December 18, 2025, Reece's phone was located on the couch.
Reece was read the Miranda Advisory and agreed to talk to law enforcement. He confirmed that he lived at the NW address with his family. He also confirmed his phone number. When Reece was told that the investigation was related to Discord, Reece responded that he had been meaning to talk to law enforcement about that. Reece said that his friend is a hacker and Reece found a website that people would send CSAM on. Reece wanted to send the site to his friend to take down, and he did. Reece said that he didn't realize that if he sent the website it would ban his account.
He then didn't want to "go through the whole thing." Reece confirmed the username that he had on Discord, which matched the cybertip. Reece saved the website that had children engaging in sex acts. He said the ages of the children varied. Reece acknowledged that at least one of the images on the website that he saved was of a baby being sexually assaulted. Reece sent the image to his friend through Discord. He could not remember his friends username. Reece sent at least two images through Discord.
He went on to explain that on Discord he created a new server to send the CSAM because he did not want it in his personal chat. He found the images on a file sharing site. Reece disseminated an image of a female child approximately 7-9 years old that was nude. Her vagina was exposed with ejaculating dripping from her vagina. There was another image of an 3-12 month old infant lying nude while two adult males vaginally and anally penetrated her. PLEASE TAKE NOTICE: YOU MUST APPEAR FOR EVERY COURT HEARING REGARDING THIS CASE. FAILURE TO APPEAR FOR COURT IS A CRIMINAL OFFENSE AND MAY RESULT IN ADDITIONAL CRIMINAL CHARGES BEING IMPOSED AND PUNISHED AS PROVIDED IN MINNESOTA STATUTES SECTION 609.49.
