On October 31, 2025, at approximately 10:24 A.M., officers were dispatched to the 3000 block of Nelson Road in Independence, Hennepin County, Minnesota, for a domestic assault. Officers arrived and spoke to a male victim [NAME REDACTED] in obvious pain. Male victim stated he believed his hand was broken. He explained that KAYLA LYNN CARLSON [DOB REDACTED], the Defendant, had struck him with a metal carpet stretcher. He explained that Carlson and he are in a romantic relationship and today they had an argument, and she struck him.

He recorded the argument, and officers reviewed them and it was consistent with victim's account. Defendant spoke to police and admitted to the conduct. The Defendant is in custody.
