On April 14, 2025, Deputy Trupe of the Anoka County Sheriff’s Office responded to the Anoka County Jail located at [ADDRESS REDACTED] in the city of Anoka, County of Anoka, State of Minnesota, for a report of an assault of a correction deputy by an inmate, identified as Justin Joseph Tomasko, [DOB REDACTED], Defendant herein. Deputy Trupe reviewed a video of the incident. The video shows Defendant going behind the corrections deputy desk, grabbing two computer monitors, and throwing them against the wall.
Defendant also grabbed a phone off the desk and threw it against the wall. The video then shows another inmate, N. H., grabbing Defendant in an attempt to stop Defendant from damaging more property. Defendant then punched N. H., who was eventually able to restrain Defendant until correctional deputies arrived. Deputies, including Deputy Rasmussen, then escorted Defendant out of the unit. When Deputy Rasmussen asked Defendant what happened, Defendant spit on Deputy Rasmussen’s face, eye, and collar.
Defendant then told Deputy Rasmussen that Deputy Rasmussen “had this coming.” Defendant caused damage in the amount of approximately $250 by throwing the monitors. Defendant was convicted of Criminal Sexual Conduct in the First Degree on March 9, 2026, in court file 02- CR-24-3563 and is held at the Anoka County Jail without bail pending sentencing.
