Deputies arrested Leritz at his residence in White Bear Township. In a post-Miranda interview, Leritz initially denied the sexual assault. He acknowledged that he fit the suspect’s description. He agreed that he lost his glasses. He maintained that they fell in Sucker Lake when he was fishing. When investigators told him that they had more evidence against him, he hung his head and said, “I don’t want to go, but yea, I did it.” He said that he saw his victim [NAME REDACTED]. He watched her for about five minutes.
He said, “F*** it, since I’m a virgin.” He rode his bike past her, dumped his bike and backpack, and walked down the path. He waited for her. When she passed, he snuck up behind her, grabbed her from behind, and covered her mouth. He pulled her off the sidewalk. He forced her onto her stomach and put his hand down the back of her pants. He said, “It escalated from there. My stupid urges took control.” He noted that his victim took his glasses and threw them. He said that he “fully raped her.” He stated that his victim asked him to let her go home and to stop because it hurt.
He said that he also put his mouth on her breasts. He admitted that he penetrated her vagina and anus with 2 62-CR-25-8133 Filed in District Court State of Minnesota 10/31/2025 his penis and fingers. He said that he ejaculated into her buttocks. He admitted that he obstructed her airway during the assault. He also admitted to knocking her phone out of her hand after the assault, to delay her call for help. He said that he assaulted his victim for about 20 minutes. When he was done, he walked back to his bicycle and backpack and eventually rode home.
