On 02/26/2026, Minneapolis Police took a burglary report. The victim, IA, said that sometime overnight someone broke into his garage and stole his 2008 Toyota Rav4 (MN/LLJ-247). According to Carfax.com, the average value of a 2008 Toyota Rav 4 is $7,997. On 03/06/26 at 1308 hours, a Ramsey County Sheriff Inspector spotted a white Toyota Rav4 displaying a stolen license plate (RBJ-706) driving near W 7th Street and Saint Clair Ave in St. Paul, Ramsey County. Auto thieves commonly switch license plates in order to thwart law enforcement efforts to identify it.
The Inspector followed the vehicle to [ADDRESS REDACTED] where a traffic stop was initiated. The driver, identified as Clinton Wayne STEWART ([DOB REDACTED]), exited the vehicle and was arrested. STEWART had active warrants. The passenger was identified as Andreanna Marie BROWN [DOB REDACTED]. Deputies checked the vehicle’s VIN and discovered that the vehicle was stolen. The vehicle was a 2008 white Toyota Rav4 and should have been displaying MN license plate LLJ-247. The stolen plate displayed on the vehicle registered to 2009 white Toyota Rav4. When switching license plates, auto thieves commonly use a license plate stolen from a similar vehicle in order to further disguise the stolen vehicle.
During an inventory search of the stolen vehicle, Deputies found a backpack in the backseat that contained a glass meth pipe, a zip lock bag with clear crystal like substances, and a clear tear off bag containing a white powdery substance. In a post-Miranda interview, STEWART said they got the car a couple days earlier from BROWN’s friend “Brady” who said they could borrow it. STEWART said he knew “Brady” was a drug dealer and was known to have a lot of stolen property. STEWART admitted that the backpack was his and said it contained methamphetamine.
The substance is currently undergoing testing. For purposes of Rule 6.
