On July 25, 2025, law enforcement received a delayed theft report from the Target located at [ADDRESS REDACTED], Lino Lakes, Anoka County. The Target loss prevention staff told law enforcement that on July 15, 2025, a female suspect, later identified as Vanessa Christine Nicosia-Rojas [DOB REDACTED], defendant herein, had taken a Stanley cooler bag, Momcozy breast pump, and two baby monitors, went to a dressing room for over 30 minutes with the items, left the dressing room and proceeded to the checkout.
At the checkout, defendant purchased a few drinks but did not pay for the cooler and breast pump that were visible in her cart. She passed all points of sale and did not pay for the items that totaled $539.99. Defendant was seen on surveillance leaving with a male in a red Chevrolet Silverado (MN/MZM373). On July 29, 2025, law enforcement was alerted to another theft at the Lino Lakes Target involving defendant from July 28, 2025, with the same male suspect. Defendant took a coffee maker and an espresso maker, passed all points of sale, and did not make any attempt to pay for the merchandise that totaled $624.98. Between the two thefts, the total loss to the Lino Lakes Target totals $1,164.97. Defendant was identified through her involvement in around five thefts between Lino Lakes, Plymouth, Eden Prairie, and Shakopee Targets, along with a comparison of her on surveillance to her DVS photo.
Defendant has three pending felony theft cases out of Plymouth (court file no. ••-CR-••-••••) from July 23, 2025, Shakopee (court file no. ••-CR-••-••••) from July 27, 2025, and Apple Valley (court file no. 19HA-CR-25-1503) from August 10, 2025. Defendant also has prior felony convictions for theft in court file no. ••-CR-••-•••• from June 5, 2025, and check forgery in court file nos. ••-CR-••-•••• and 27-CR-11- 10039 from January 31, 2025, and May 24, 2012, respectively.
