On April 8, 2026, around 3:24 A.M., Moorhead Police received three separate 911 calls reporting gunshots being fired in the area of 1921 13th Ave N in the City of Moorhead, County of Clay, State of Minnesota. Dispatch reported that complainants heard screaming, gunshots and further advised the screaming sounded like someone was getting murdered. One caller reported hearing two gunshots and while on the line with dispatch, the caller heard a third gunshot. A second caller reported seeing a male crouched outside of 1914 13th Ave N with an assault rifle.
The caller further reported the male was outside the window and banging on the door. Officers responded to the area and made contact with the residents of 1921 13th Ave N, Bryan Jacob Envik [DOB REDACTED](hereinafter "Defendant") and A. G. Officers took custody of a SCAR.308 rifle, a high powered semi-automatic rifle from Defendant and spoke with Defendant and A. G. Defendant admitted that he shot the gun. Defendant stated he believed there were people in his house and he shot at them. Officers conducted a safety sweep of Defendant's residence, finding no people in the residence.
Officers observed several bullet holes in the living room and kitchen and spent ammunition casings. Officers also found a pistol in one of the bedrooms of the home, multiple other long guns in a different bedroom and a Glock 17 with a tan grip and red dot optic near a bed. Officers then observed a bullet hole that entered the lower portion of the front screen door of the home. Bullet holes was also located in the refrigerator and dishwasher. Officers observed marijuana, marijuana paraphernalia and alcoholic beverage cans and bottles in the home.
Officers did not observe any signs of footprints in the snow around the house or near the windows. Officers were approached by M. F., who resides at 1910 13th Ave N. M. F. Reported there was a bullet casing on his deck. The casing was a.308 round, which matched the round in the rifle previously seized by officers. Another resident of 1910 13th Ave N told officers that he observed Defendant shoot his rifle in the direction of the house at 1921 13th Ave N. Defendant admitted that he shot his rifle in the direction of his home.
Officers spoke with three other people who stated they did not see any other people near Defendant's home. Officers further observed evidence of a bullet striking the siding and gutter of the home located at 1910 13th Ave N.
