On or about October 28, 2025, Dilworth Police Department Chief H. Rawson responded to a report of a theft that occurred at 711 3rd Ave. NW in Dilworth, located in Clay County, MN. The caller/victim [NAME REDACTED] had taken a utility trailer valued at approximately $1,000 from the above residence, and that she had not given anyone permission to take the trailer. The Victim [NAME REDACTED] had left for work that day at 7:30 A.M., and returned home to find the trailer had gone missing. It was additionally noted that the trailer contained several other items, including a cooler containing various food products, and some ply wood valued at approximately $30. The trailer had been reported as lost by another individual named JUSTIN LEE OTT [DOB REDACTED], hereinafter the Defendant.
The trailer was located by Minnesota State Patrol on the side of the highway, having apparently come loose from the Defendant's vehicle and struck another car. The Defendant reported that he was told by an individual with the initials D. E. That he could use the trailer whenever he liked. The Victim [NAME REDACTED], and reported she had not met D. E. The Defendant further advised that there was a cooler on the trailer when he took it, which was later returned to the victim. The trailer was too damaged to be transported back to the Defendant.
Several food products that were inside the cooler had gone missing. PLEASE TAKE NOTICE: Pursuant to Minn. Stat. 609.49., intentional failure to appear for duly scheduled court appearances may result in additional criminal charges, and in addition to any arrest warrant that may otherwise be issued by the Court.
