On May 8, 2025, Savage Police Officer Daniel Lein ("Officer Lein") was assigned to contact a reporting party regarding a road rage incident that occurred in the city of Savage, Scott County, Minnesota. The reporting party, an adult female (fully identified in law enforcement reports and hereinafter referred to as "Victim"), provided her contact information and requested a phone call. As a result, Officer Lein called and spoke with Victim. Victim explained, in relevant part, the following: Victim [NAME REDACTED] inform law enforcement she observed a road rage incident while driving from Prior Lake High School toward County Road 42. Victim saw a female driver outside of her vehicle, a white Chrysler Town and Country, bearing a Wisconsin license plate AWV7657, actively yelling and arguing with the driver of another vehicle.
Victim described the female suspect as short in stature (only reaching halfway up the middle window of her vehicle), possibly Hispanic, with black hair and darker skin. Victim relayed that the female suspect was repeatedly shouting and calling someone a "bitch” multiple times, along with other profane language. Victim responded by saying "Language," not realizing her windows were down, which prompted the female to notice her. The female suspect then returned to her vehicle and began following Victim.
Victim then explained that the female suspect threw an unknown object at her vehicle. Victim did not stop to identify the object but instead pulled into the Goodwill parking lot, while the suspect vehicle continued driving toward Burnsville. After the incident, Victim noticed two areas of damage on the passenger side of her vehicle. She photographed the damage and had previously obtained an image of the suspect's license plate. Officer Lein then sent Victim a Community Request Link, and Victim uploaded four photos to evidence: three images showing vehicle damage and one of the license plate AWV7657. Officer Lein also noted in his report that the Savage Police Department received another report involving this exact vehicle several hours later that same day.
Based upon the photographs provided, Officer Lein contacted the registered owner of the suspect vehicle on May 14, 2025. The registered owner of the vehicle bearing Wisconsin License plate AWV7657, which was confirmed to be a white Chrysler Town and Country, was Antoinette L Roberts, [DOB REDACTED] (hereinafter "DEFENDANT"). In speaking with Officer Lein, DEFENDANT confirmed she was the registered owner of the vehicle but denied any road rage incidents. Critically, DEFENDANT acknowledged recalling two separate incidents in Savage that day, wherein an "older lady" commented about her language.
Defendant confirmed she was driving but denied and did not admit to throwing an object at another vehicle. DEFENDANT suggested that one of her children could have thrown it but could not confirm who was responsible. On May 15, 2025, Officer Lein reached out and spoke with an adult female (fully identified in law enforcement reports and hereinafter referred to as "Witness") who observed the entire incident. Witness confirmed that on that date and time Witness was in the car with her husband, her husband was driving.
