On March 3, 2026, an identified thirteen-year-old juvenile male, Victim [NAME REDACTED], approached a Minneapolis Police Department officer at Target on at 900 Nicollet Mall and told him that he was just assaulted and robbed nearby. Victim [NAME REDACTED] at 7th Street and Nicollet Avenue when a group of several males wearing all black clothing and ski masks pushed him against a wall, stole his black jacket, white backpack, and hat, and punched him in the face several times. Victim got away and ran to Target for help.
Victim [NAME REDACTED] injury to his hip and his lip during the assault. Officers monitored surveillance video in the area and found a group of males fitting the description of the robbers. One of them was wearing a white backpack. Officers responded to the area and told that juvenile, later identified as Co-respondent T. D. R. To stop. But Co-respondent T. D. R. Fled from the officers on foot. During the pursuit, Co-respondent T. D. R. Threw the backpack to the ground and continued to run away. But officers caught and arrested Co-respondent T. D. R. After a brief pursuit.
Police confirmed that the white backpack Co-respondent T. D. R. Discarded was Victim's backpack. Surveillance video showed the assault and robbery. Co-respondent T. D. R. Was visible assaulting Victim and forcibly taking his backpack. Co-respondent T. D. R. Was also visible carrying the backpack after the robbery but prior to officers arriving on the scene. Additional review of the surveillance video showed that a juvenile male, later identified as Co-respondent D. B. A. Was one of the group of males who first approached Victim.
Co-respondent D. B. A. Helped Co- respondent T. D. R. Remove Victim's backpack and walk away with it. Several other males continued to assault Victim and stole his jacket before walking away. Then Co-respondent D. B. A. Chased Victim, who attempted to run away, assaulted him, and tried to take his sweatshirt. A male, later identified as Defendant REGINALD RIKEEM ROBINSON, [DOB REDACTED], joined Co-respondent D. B. A., grabbed Victim [NAME REDACTED], and threw him to the ground. Co-respondent D. B. A. Then removed Victim's sweatshirt by dragging him across the ground.
Co-respondent D. B. A. And Defendant then ran away with the rest of the group of juveniles. On February 4, 2026, at approximately 6:40 P.M., police located Defendant in the same area as the robbery. Defendant was wearing the same clothing and backpack as he was during the robbery. Police detained Defendant and asked him multiple times for his identification. In response, Defendant gave the name and date of birth of another real person. Only after confirming using law enforcement records that Defendant did not resemble the person whose name and date of birth he provided did Defendant identify himself correctly.
