On July 30, 2025, at approximately 12:44 AM, Officer West with the Blaine Police Department initiated a traffic stop on a Buick Enclave (MN/RZC575) for failing to maintain its lane of travel, in the area of Highway 10 NE and 85th Ave NE, Anoka County. Officer West made contact with the driver, later identified as Flenear Jefferson [DOB REDACTED], defendant hereinafter. Defendant stated he did not have his driver’s license on his person and admitted to not being valid. Record checks show defendant had a revoked license.
Officer West could smell a strong odor of marijuana coming from inside the vehicle. When asked about the marijuana, defendant reached in the pocket of the passenger side seat and provided a small colorful package that contained a green leaf substance. The bags were not in original dispensary containers, and the seal was taken off. In a search of the vehicle, Officers located a clear plastic bag that contained a white or tan rock substance on top of the 3rd row seat on the driver’s side. Defendant was placed under arrest.
The Midwest Regional Forensic Laboratory confirmed the substance was xylazine, cocaine, heroin and fentanyl and weighed 3.459 grams. Defendant received a 152.18 disposition for Controlled Substance in the Third Degree in July 2025 in Anoka County (••-CR-••-••••).
