At approximately 1:30 AM on January 29, 2026, Deputy Vivas of the Carver County Sheriff’s Office was performing routine patrol when he observed an individual sleeping in a parked car at the Kwik Trip in Norwood Young America, Carver County. Deputy Vivas noted the vehicle was running and the reverse lights were activated. Deputy Vivas approached on foot and woke the driver by knocking on the window. The driver was identified as Hodo Ahmed Abdullahi [DOB REDACTED], hereinafter Defendant. Deputy Personius observed a small baggie containing a white substance on the gear shifter, and noted a straw fall out of Defendant’s hand.
Deputies asked Defendant about the substance and she admitted it was fentanyl. The substance later field tested positive as fentanyl and weighed approximately 1.7 grams. Defendant was ordered out of the car and deputies located three red pills in her jacket pocket that Defendant claimed she got from work. Defendant agreed to perform the Walk and Turn Test and the One- Leg Stand Test, both of which indicated impairment. Defendant provided a preliminary breath sample that resulted in a reading of.000. Deputies searched the vehicle and located numerous pills and drug paraphernalia throughout.
Defendant was placed under arrest and transported to the 212 Medical Center where deputies obtained a search warrant for Defendant’s blood or urine. Defendant agreed to provide a blood sample, which has been sent to the Minnesota BCA for analysis. PLEASE TAKE NOTICE: Pursuant to Minn.
