On January 23, 2026, Minneapolis Police Officers responded to a trespass report at an apartment building located at [ADDRESS REDACTED] South, Minneapolis, Hennepin County. Officers located the trespassed individual on the property in an apartment. KAYLA KEYAIRA WADE, Defendant herein, was previously trespassed from the property. Officers learned that the Defendant had an active warrant. Before coming in contact with the Defendant, Officers knew they would be taking her into custody on the warrant.
Before informing the Defendant of the arrest, Officers removed her from the apartment to avoid an altercation. The Defendant willingly got dressed and cared for herself without any assistance. She appeared to move normally and did not give any indication of injury. Once removed from the apartment, Officers advised the Defendant of her warrant and that she was being placed under arrest. The Defendant then attempted to pull away from Officers, became irritated, and demanded to go to the hospital. The Defendant complained of hearing voices, having toe pain from frostbite, and bleeding from a pregnancy.
Ambulances were called. The Defendant refused to speak to EMS and refused to get up off the ground. The Defendant was assessed and released with no immediate medical concerns to be booked. The Defendant then stated she had been sexually assaulted and was denied entry into the jail. Jail nurses removed the Defendant's sock to assess her alleged frostbite and a baggie of 0.6 grams of FTP crack-cocaine fell out of her sock. The Defendant was inevitably booked at the Hennepin County Jail and remains in custody on a conditional release violation in case file ••-CR-••-••••.
