On or about April 19, 2026 at approximately 8:45 A.M., Minneapolis police responded to a call of a robbery on Lake Street East in Minneapolis, Hennepin County, Minnesota. Upon arrival on scene, officers spoke with A. R. (“Victim” herein). Officers learned that Victim is the registered owner of a black Nissan Altima with Minnesota license plate [PLATE REDACTED] (“the Altima” herein). Victim told officers that he and his friend (“Witness” herein) were sitting in the Altima in a parking lot on Lake Street East.
Victim [NAME REDACTED] in the driver’s seat, and Witness was sitting in the front passenger seat. Victim [NAME REDACTED] was running. Victim told officers that he and Witness are migrant workers, and they were sitting in the parking lot waiting for anyone with work to drive up and ask for workers. While they were sitting there, a female suspect, later identified as BRIANNA LOUISE KING (“Defendant” herein), approached the driver’s side rear door, opened the door, and got into the Altima. Defendant asked for $2 in cash and then asked for $20 more, but Victim did not have $20. Victim refused to give Defendant the money.
Defendant then punched Victim [NAME REDACTED]. Victim and Witness got out of the Altima and ran away. Defendant then got into the driver’s seat and drove the Altima away from the parking lot. Victim described Defendant as a 25- to 28-year-old white female with a skinny build, medium height, and pockmarks on her right cheek. Victim [NAME REDACTED] was wearing a dark blue winter coat with a hood and a dark blue winter cap that covered her hair. Later that day, around 5:49 P.M., officers on routine patrol were flagged down by Victim [NAME REDACTED]. Victim told officers that the suspect who had stolen his Altima was walking down the street.
Officers saw Defendant, who began to run westbound on Lake Street West. Officers briefly lost sight of Defendant but shortly thereafter found her near the intersection of Lake Street West and Pleasant Avenue South. Officers detained Defendant. Victim [NAME REDACTED], pointed at Defendant, and identified her as the person who had stolen the Altima. Victim [NAME REDACTED] was wearing his boots that he had in the Altima. Defendant was arrested and brought to the Hennepin County jail. Defendant initially told officers that she did not know Victim [NAME REDACTED] did not take the Altima, but later she confirmed she did take the Altima.
Defendant said she parked the Altima on the 3000 block of Pleasant Avenue South. Defendant admitted she asked Victim [NAME REDACTED]. Defendant said she was panhandling before talking with Victim. Defendant said she did not know Victim [NAME REDACTED], and she had never seen either of them before this incident. Defendant said Victim gave her $2 and invited her to sit inside the Altima. Defendant said she then asked Victim for $10 more, but Victim [NAME REDACTED] did not give her any more money. Defendant said this made her upset.
